Global environmental awareness ditching single-use plastic water bottles is increasing consumer preference for reusable types made of metal for its sturdiness and recyclability as well as glass, which is just as recyclable. This shift shows in market projections pointing to a 4 percent CAGR between 2021 and 2028 from $8.38 billion in 2020, according to Grand View Research.
The metal category includes aluminum, stainless steel and copper types. The last is said to have health benefits such as contributing to boosting the immune system and improving digestion.
In India, manufacturers of drinking water bottles widely use pure copper, with stainless steel options also available. Food-grade quality is emphasized for safe drinking. Variations are mostly in shape, capacity and design, with almost all having leak-resistant screw caps. Bottles are available plain, painted, lacquered or with printed designs or decals.
